Crashhhh! Haven't played that game since PS1! Good game but I always sucked at the jumping bits.

Onto the track, very groovy. I like your drum roll that kicked in around the 40 second mark. Other favourite bit is that guitar that kicked in around 1:10ish.

The track has a nice continuation to it and your drums are on point. Very well played, and if it's midi drums then nicely done because it sounds hand played! :D

4.5/5 for composition and those awesome drums. Minor suggestion would be to tweak the volumes a touch to bring out the electro guitar more at 30 seconds. Some bits are slightly louder than others. Easier to notice if you turn your headphones down, some bits arent quite audible e.g. 30 seconds and 55 seconds.

Absolutely delightful! Your lead at 0:50 is so tasty dude. The prescence of all the instruments and sound stage is awesome. So clean!

Loving the ambience at 1:34 too. Somewhere between other worldly and a concert where everyone goes quiet in the crowd and the lights turn blue with the camera focused on the solo guitarist. A huge audience in a huge outdoor venue. Dang dude. So nice.

A Yanni esque movement, like you could easily fit some keys after that and build it into a fully orchestral drop with rock elements, or even a violin!

Great stuff dude.

Quite distorted dude but groovy at the same time. Pull back the overdrive a bit? Maybe it's just my personal taste.

The melody is damn catchy and especially the 48 second mark.

Just harsh on headphones. Like your overdrive takes away from the composition which itself is cool.

Without forcing all the levels so high, you could bring out more rhythm to the track itself. Like more bounce.

Any plans on extending it?

There is no overdrive effect on the track, so i'm not sure what may be causig that.

I was planning to expand it a bit more, but then i lost interest in the project.

Nice one. Never thought about trying FL mobile but it seems pretty good by the sounds of it.

Did you play these notes in or was it on screen?

Overall a nice piece. Quite medium paced. Not relaxing but not frantic either, some sort of flying your kite in the wind music for an Unreal Engine graphics showcase video.

Would fit nicely into a 3D animation I reckon :)

Dunno why but the track name made me think of hiphop. Listening on the train so not gonna comment on mixing.

Track starts off well. The disonant bells at 34 are decent. Your snare is well placed. Tidy and clean beat. Then we got a breakdown at 50 seconds, nice and slow build up, you're brave! 1:15 I'm sat here wondering what kinda drop we'll have. 1:30 that wobble comes in too unexpectedly dude.

The track so far feels like its building to something but 2 min 18 in and there has not quite been a dubstep drop.

Your builds are nice but you need a heavy drop dude.

E.g. 3:10 sounds like you're building into a drop. Take that section, throw in some rising sweeps, maybe some snare rolls, hi hat rolls, then chuck it into a drop.

For the drop, do whatever you like. Some ideas could be a heavy growly style noise, you could do a sinewave style wobble, you could side chain some synth with heavy chord bits, a lot of potential there.

So all in all, a decent track, you got all the non-drop bits spot on, just add a heavy drop in there and you are golden.

Has a lot of groove to it. Reminds me of a discoy track from Fifa 08 or 09, the beginning beat anyway.

With the piano you should defo play around with some velocities on the notes. Just to make it sound a bit more hand played.

The first drop is quite disonant. Adds a contrast to the earlier bits.

That bit at 2 min, the breakdown instrument with the underground matrix club vibe is a solid sound. You should expand on that in future.

The follow up drop to that is better than the first I reckon.

Then back to the piano. You thought about trying to export the piano to wav then readd it as an audio clip, reverse it, chop it up and add it as an additional layer to play along with the piano? Especially for the second section.

Your third drop is nice too. The one somewhere in the 4 min area.

You have any genre in mind for this?

Has disonant bits, then airy piano sections, then heavy underground 2000s clubs vibes and at the start you had quite an indie club daft punk groove going.

You could take one of those themes or two and run it as a whole track in itself.

Just watched a bit on youtube about how pop music being repetitive is a key for the songs being popular. It's kinda difficult because the attention to detail on a repetitive track, like everything has to be spot on. But your themes here, they could honestly be a song each in themselves.

Wow dude, sounds like a riot going down in France. Ha. The little singing actually brings some comedy to it. Quite unnerving.

Wow. Felt like a bloke in a high rise sipping some fine drink and watching the world burn, but feeling safe. Then snap, the kick cuts in like a door knocking and shit just hit the fan.

Damn! Very story esque tune.

Good stuff! Would fit well around an animation. Very story influenced it feels.

10/10 for building a complex story feel into it. Just needs some work on the mixing side and seeing as you have acoustic esque cymbals, you could certainly play with volume levels and sustain times, along with different cymbals if you can get your hands on some samples of someone hitting the same cymbal but in various ways. Would give it a more human touch.

Just some context for the intro : The riots are actually from Hamburg during the G9, I think it was one or two years ago. I took the sample back then and didn't know what to do with it until this track. The song over it is a french popular song "Révolution Pérmanente" by George Moustaki, it's about the trotskyist concept of the same name.
Thanks a lot for the constructive criticism! I think the mix of the kick/bass is good, Is it the mids and highs that could be improved? And I hear you for the cymbals, I may have an idea to make this song more "organic" if I come back to it!

Listening on my crappy 10 quid headphones so cant say too much about the mixdown..

Track starts off with a good feel vibe but almost videogamey, especially around 40 second mark.

Compositionwise it's nice dude and I like that end bit where the notes go slightly off / into another key? Dunno if I'm explaining it nice but yeah, its attention grabbing and fits the gamey theme you got going on.

For the drop, you could introduce a saw bass to sit under the other parts? Also your reverb is overpowering right around 55 and 1:06, if you cut back the low end on the reverb using the hicut / lowcut settings within the reverb (assuming you used fruity reeverb?) then it will open space for your bass to sit, especially in the drop.

Yo thanks for feedback! Actually I used the effector's phaser+filter deviation around 55 and 1:06, in 55's case, I had it suddenly cut off after building up but then not changing the melody synth or building the volume back up. In post, however I didn't like how it sounded so I had it semi-gradually decline back to normal levels. In the case of 1:06, I have the filter and phaser sorta go up and down a bit, although maybe I got a bit reckless with how far.

Nice sounds dude. A lot of ambience to the build up! That piano at 48 tops it off beautifully. Good luck in the contest ;)
