Powerful intro. Sustained build. Phat brass. Then we're off into the DnB land.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THAT DROPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Very powerful dude!!!!!

Some feedback would be on the mixing side, it feels a bit overcompressed in the drop section? Like the gain has been cranked up too high and everything is somehow smushed. Same for your build up section too actually. Might just be my ears but some less compression could do wonders.

Other than that dude, solid track. My favourite is the first synth that kicks in on the drops for like 4 bars? It should stand on it's own, you don't even need to chop it in half. It's actually damn strong!

Hope this was useful and if you have anything similar, hit me up!

Agreed on that last bit xD

Track itself is a bit on the heavy side dude, like it feels over compressed?

The high ends aren't really punching through your mix, sounds like it's behind a tape or underwater a bit.

Onto the composition itself, pretty old school beats, I like it, getting my head bopping. The piano bits blend well with it too. Gets a smidge repetitive I'd say, the chord progression anyway, which is fine for old school but you could switch it up by glitching it or chopping it up somewhat? Or add some DJ scratching into it?

The vocal at 2:40 is SO nice!! Also at 3:20!

Overall enjoyed it dude, just like you said, the mixdown.

Question, what did you put on your master fx channel?

The track itself is being held back so much by the mixing man :(

Good job otherwise though :)

Darkmaster603 responds:

Thanks for taking the time! I know it sounds cliche but I was purposefully going for a lofi sound. I cut the highs. There's actually no pianos in this track is all guitars and heavy heavy reverb/delays/chorus with some vocals. Besides the kit obviously. Its a custom made track for her video as background music so I made it a bit repetitive and not intrusive to just be there while there's a time lapse of make up. I may end up adding some glitching to spice it up though.

You're right though lofi is no excuse for a sloppy mix ill be working on that when I get time.

The master channel is just maximus.

ooooo yeaaaaaaah

Very smooth track! Very vapor esque!

Love it man, those proper elevator vibes!

Got a nice rhythm to it and that flute roll at 50 is beautiful to hear. The glitch bits on the snares rolls, the selection of voice and the way you've weaved it into the track is awesome. I'd take out the "hey hey hey" from the latter parts though, it's so damn Brostep even though I sometimes use it too. For this beauty, it needn't be used.

Absolutely nailed the genre dude and your panned bits are much pleasing to my primitive ears :D

Great stuff! All the best with your podcast!

DreamEater responds:

Thank you so much for your extremely detailed review, I very much appreciate it :). Iā€™m incredibly greatful for your feedback šŸ˜

Dude your panning and space use is nice! Great job there.

The track itself is intriguing, has some phat sounds that are sitting back and allowing each other space. Has a slight cyber punk vibe.

Love the ambients around 1:10, would say that you pan it a little too hard around 1:17 and 1:26, but it's personal taste.

1:43 clashes a little bit, feels a smidge muddy, it's that lower frequency instrument doing it, maybe the reverb on it?

2:03 is clean as heck and overall dude very cool use of stereo!

You did it without losing the center ground too which is legit :)

Cool stuff dude, keep up the good work!

THAT DROPPPPPPP!!!!!

Nice build up and a fat wobble sound dude. The variation is solid too. Proper dinosaur powerlevels.

Good stuff :)

Fl Mobile can make stuff like this?!

Wow dude!

44 hits very nicely with the gnarly synth and I quite like that guitar around 2:45 and the follow up drop is nice.

Wouldnt even mind hearing that guitar drop on it's own without the jamaican instrument. The bell one.

The drop towards the end, that synth is thickkkkkkk

Keep up the good work!

GOES HARRRRRRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proper jungle is massive business!

The 300 Spartans are here!

Cool piece dude. What's the idea behind the structure of it?

The themes are quite consistent and heavily 300 style.

Your synth towards the end is a nice touch and the drums are quite epic dude.

Good job!

Anymore like this or any longer ones?

XenoXenon responds:

Thanks and yes I have a longer cinematic one like this , Shadows By Me

Whats a Rondo form?

Interesting composition dude. The song fits your narrative but my gosh is that a scary one to face.

1:50ish and the following bits are the highlights for me. It's as if there is a resolution but nothing special. Just an acceptance.

Cool work dude, I like songs with a story to them :)

dude2312 responds:

Don't quote me on it as I am in no way classically trained. But Rondo is a type of composition where you eventually go back to the beginning. You know how there's different types of compositions for example: A - Intro, B - verse, C - bridge?

Rondo form usually goes with ABA, ABACA, or even ABACABA. It all comes down to getting back to your root. And it is perfect for story telling in my opinion.

It seems you got the feeling I was going for and that is amazing! "Just the acceptance" That was beautiful, man.

Cheers!

Quite a bleak feel! The synth are really painting a dystopian image.

I liked the build to the drop and the ambient bits around 1:03 are cool too!

You should feature that stabby synth at the 1 min mark again.

Some robot business going down here :)

Back in the flow of things!
