The name got me interested!

But you need to make it a lot more powerful at the introduction!!!! Use that piano you used on one of your other tracks, with a really sad, sorrowful melody and this will raise the track tenfold no doubt! I can feel the emotion behind the track, you just need to upgrade your strings and put that awesome PIANO skills that you have into practise! :)

WICKED!!!

Proper arcade old school dude! Awesome stuff! The melodies are pretty funky and the instruments sound wicked! (:

What would make it even crazier is if you had some MAD ABSOLUTELY FUCKING CRAZY drum and bass drop come in randomly with some hefty bass!!!!

That would seal the deal for me! :D

Keep up the good work!

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

I suppose you'll have to wait for the Arranged Sound Track for that one to come out, lol :p

Cool!

Ye I like it, the piano is awesome! The melodies fit very nicely and all the other stuff goes nicely! The snare roll at the start or like the first gets a bit repetitive after a while, you could vary it up or vary up the dynamics! The piano part is by far my favourite! The other instruments sound a bit old school synth style, add some reverb to give them a bit more depth perhaps? Or play with the dynamics? I'm sure you could make them sound nicer! :)

Take the piano part, add some dynamics and make it LONGER!!!! :D

Good stuff! Keep up the good work! :)

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

Yeah, I kinda wish this was longer too, but I didn't have anything left in me for this piece after a minute (don't ya hate when that happens?).

But yeah, thanks for the critiques, I keep on fiddling around with stuff and settings, so hopefully, I'll finally be able to get a good sound one of these days.

Thanks for the review!

Wicked!

Sounds pretty sick! I especially like the drums + the transitions! Pretty impressive stuff :D

One pointer is the mastering of the track, you need to work on this but then again this comes after the track is finished so when its all done it will be an all round dirty track!!!!! Love the wobbles that come in later on in the track aswell! Give it a fresh feel!

Keep up the great work!

Pezmobile responds:

i did a bit of mastering already but not too much. So far i added more FX and simple things to the song to make it better. I also turned down the distortion on the drums but theres still a littile cus in my opinion that creates the whole feel of the track.

I'll PM u with the finished version, just have to finish the mastering,

o_O!!!!

The drums are mad!!!!!! Dunno how you do it dude!! Sound fucking sick!! Well done on that :D

The intro strings reminded me of bash - kidulthood to adulthood for a split second, you could vary it up a bit by dropping them out completely at :30 after the sort of slow down section and replace it with some fat synth OR even better, have the strings keep going to 1:16 and then have some fat ass bassy synth replace it, something disgusting and monsterish with a heavy vocal clip to introduce it, something nasty from a horror film or a scream or something awesome then have the drums come in with it but much more powerful drums than before, this would make the track sound fucking amazing!!

Thats my two cents dude!

Keep up the good work, you got some real potential :)

Drums are banging!

I like it dude! The drums are fucking sick!! You need to put some sort of fat drop in there somewhere! Infact, it is already present at 1:06, you just need to put emphasis on it, have the section before perhaps a tad less powerful, take out the drums perhaps or put a high filter on the track with a snare roll of some sort introducing 1:06 and then bam you've just given the track double the power it had before! Drum and bass is similar to trance and dubstep in the sense that it has a buildup followed by a powerful drop, re-arrange parts of this track and it will sound awesome! Not even that difficult to do dude and it'll sound mighty awesome! :)

Keep up the good work dude! I will check in on your stuff from time to time and drop you some reviews if they are helpful :D

Numi responds:

Can't believe I've missed your reviews, man. I just checked all my old work and was surprised to see a few positive comments on 'em. I see tons more flaws in this song =(
I plan on re-doing a bunch of Breakcore/DnB some time real soon. Glad you were able to enjoy the track, man =D

Coooool!

Liking the use of the nexus instrument! Definately the coolest one on the program :)

The way the vocals and main body flow, pretty decent stuff!!!

Good work dude, keep it up!

o_O :D:D:D:D:D::D:D:D:D:D:YAYAYAYAYAAAY

Awesome stuff dude, you really packed a punch in this song! The piano is spot on!! I could sit here all day and listen to that piano, the way you incorporated it is genius! Nice to hear you using the yaya stuff aswell =) The breakdown was quite nice aswell, though I reckon a reintroduction of the piano at that point would be rather cool. If you brought this in some more then it would be easier to recognize the song for users, for example, if I was to have to hum back a piece of the song or the main melody/body of it, it would be difficult as there is so much going on. Use that piano later on in the song aswell and bam, you've got something that the listener will be able to familiarise/acquaint to the song... and the piano is awesome... dunno if i already said that :D

The progression of the song is pretty nice, it varies nicely adding a lot of excitement and mystery to the piece, making it difficult to predict which is pretty decent. Add in perhaps a vocal sample of some chinese guy saying something cool or someone important saying a quote or something, then add shit loads of delay on one of the words, or the final word in the sentence and smack that into your second build up from 2:33 onwards, like how a lot of artists on ukfdubstep build up their stuff. With the synth at like 3:31ish, you could vary it up by at the end of the 4th bar of the melody having a rhythm change perhaps mimicking the bass :)

Awesome work dude! Can you send me a midi version of the piano so that I can put my own spin on it, if thats cool?? :D

mr-jazzman responds:

Wow! Thank you so much for the generous review and suggestions. I like em! I dunno if I'll be changing much with this track now (aside from a less loud, better-mastered and better-EQed version sometime in the future), but you definitely have some points. The funny thing is, I actually wanted this track to repeat a little bit, but it just evolved into this progression of ideas that I couldn't help but produce -- hence, a sort of "dubstep mess" lol. This isn't to say I don't like what I did, it's just a little bit more progessive than I had hoped lol. I will certainly take your suggestions into consideration, because you make a great point: A motif repeated through the song makes it memorable. And, glad you loved dis one! =)))

P.S. I'd be more than happy to send you a MIDI of the piano to work with! Remix time, ooooooo yeah! ;)

Very skillfull done! The drum pattern was spot on, the bass sounds pretty decent, the songs progression is nice, all pretty cool stuff! You could have made this track a lot more evil using some crazy off sounding melodies and altering some pitch here and there, would have nicely worked for a halloweeny track. Good stuff man, keep it up! I'm liking your sound! :)

mr-jazzman responds:

Dude, lol thanks for reviewing my first attempt ever at dubstep. Now that I look back, this song didn't even technically have a drop...well okay, maybe it had one, ish, at like 1:22, but nothing beyond that lol. This was before I realized that distortion does the world wonders, and that dubstep drums don't have to repeat! Haha, I think I might redo this one around Halloween, just for the fun of it, because I know exactly how I'd want it to sound now! Oh yes, and I'm glad you like this dark and metallish approach to dubstep! Same to you too man, you've got a pretty cool approach to the genre too.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW .... just WOW dude! Can't wait to hear the final version of this! The piano at :17 was godlike the way it came in, such a brittle feel to it, love it!

Keep up the great work! Time to check out more of your awesome stuff!

5/5 10/10

mr-jazzman responds:

Lol Thanks man! Dude, wait till you hear my next dubstep song...you'll shitbrix lol. I know this because I MYSELF shat brix while working on it. I mean, it's not everyday you learn how Skream and Bar9 make their bass! God, you'll love the next track...because I'm lovin it as it is. And what I'll do with this song is just part of the wonder lol. I'll let ya know when I'm finished with my next song in about a week man.

Back in the flow of things!
