Nice and original

With the harp at the beginning you should experiment a bit more, try moving it up and down the scales in rapid progression and vary it, harps usually sound very good when this happens. The fanfare was in a different key which added a new level of complexity to the song but did interrupt the rhythm of the song a bit. Sounded a tad repetitive at parts but otherwise great stuff. I liked the strings that came in at about 2:20ish, maybe incorporate them more or something.?

Overall its nice, keep it up :)

TJTheChill responds:

I really like those strings at 2:20ish too. Thanks for advice and thanks for 8.

Hehehe

Sounds cheesy but in a cool way ;)
0:38 seconds in is pro, the way the drums come in with it, sounds like the Snes has gone breakbeat, good stuff.

Refreshing and original

I like it, the use of synth aswell as the drum pattern however maybe a little less reeverb won't go a miss. The main melody sounds like something out of a football (soccer) film or Pro Evo/Fifa :D

Keep up the good work, don't let ng 0 bombers get you down, they suck at music making so make others feel bad, I got 2 zeros in a row today xD

NeglectfulSpawn responds:

thanks for the criticism, and lol to the soccer film comparision :S not what i was going for but if you like it then hey good deal

Coool

I like the starting effects and the chords as well, sounds different than other rave tunes :D Like something out of timesplitters or a video game of some sort.

Lots of 0 bombers going around today, this song should be higher rated. I like the melody at 01:54, its pleasant, maybe have a breakdown section in the middle where the song goes into like a slower trance bit and then builds up into a mad drop or something, would sound cool

Keep up the good work

SgtGirlygirl responds:

I liked that you said video game. I'm getting closer to my goal.
I'm still working on my break down skills, they're lacking horribly.
But I shall go to work on this track...again...

Very touching :)

Ye dude this is great stuff, I like the use of them darkish strings to give it that mood and atmosphere, and the incorporation of the brittle piano as well make it complete. The beat is nice too, not too overpowering and not too weak.

Keep up the good work :D

nightsurfermusic responds:

Why thank you :) I'll be sure to look through more of your stuff.

Yay :D

Oh snap! Now i've heard this i've gotta make a valentines song :P

Very nice and peaceful, like one of them videos from youtube where it just plays loadsa relaxing music. I dunno if i;m feeling the plucked instrument though, just personal preference probably, maybe try out a piano with a slight delay effect added on? Haven't got any other criticism.

Good stuff :D

10/10, 5/5, 90/90, A/A

RyeGuyHead responds:

I put a piano in late in the song, this could probably go on forever...

Valentine's Songs for Everyone!!!

thanks for reviewing, will return the favor

I like it

Has a very different feel to it, the hi hats are a bit heavy on the ear but the piano melodies are very nice. I dunno why it doesn't have a higher score tbh. The clap is very FL style (the one that comes in at 1:00), you should maybe try a drum kit style as in the ones that are present on a drum kit not the modified versions, it may give it a more natural feel which could sound better around that piano melody. That's the only major flaw tbh, the drum patterns, they sound a bit lifeless. Some tweaks and it will be super! Lemme know if you make any changes.

musical-lechery responds:

The thing about the percs is that I was going for a very synthesized sound to begin with. I hear a lot of what you're talking about though. The "lifelessness" is because it's suppose to be a very laid back song and too much drums would've made it a little less smooth, you know? I'm about to upload a newer version of the song though that I think is quite better but still mostly the same... you'd have to listen to it to understand what i mean. I further synthed the clap to make it sound less generic and gave the song more of build-up layout. Also added a new loop to the song towards the end.

Thanks for the review!

Nice one

Sounds pretty decent, I reckon it needs a build up at some point and add a bassline or maybe it is there and I can't hear it, but otherwise its pretty cool

LedZeppelinluver180 responds:

Thank man,,, thanks for the advice too i havnt been makin techno for very long so i appreciate you helpin me out.. did you check out any of my other songs and like em or not?

RIP Will Smith

Make your own beats, get a better mic

Has a nice vibe to it... must be the will smith beat

Sorry bout the negativity I just think that you guys can do a lot better

YoinK responds:

Will Smith took this beat from another song....
Think what you want about this song.. everyone else loved it.

This is a really decent remix

I've been hooked on the mirror's edge theme for a long time and after hearing various remix gotta say this is one of the best :) one point of criticism is maybe add a light bass around 2:00, apart from that its very good

Keep up the good work

by the way, who done the vocals? (was it a synthesizer or real person)

NemesisTheory responds:

You and me both! First time I heard that after the first trailer i was really amazed :O

i tried playing with bass, but it somehow never stuck or took the song in another direction :/ i would've added it if it stuck, but maybe i messed up somewhere, i dont know XD

anyway, I'm glad you liked it!
about the vocals, I did those! :D

Back in the flow of things!
